In honor of the Air Jordan 12’s 25th anniversary, the Playoff colorway will make its return in 2022, marking the first release since 2012.
The Air Jordan 12 “Playoff” CT8013-006 displays a black leather upper complemented by white overlays on the medial and lateral mudguards. The shoe features silver accents on the top two eyelets and the Jumpman emblem on the lateral side, while the tongue includes a red Jumpman logo with “Two 3” stitched down the center. The heel tab features the Jordan tag, and the white Phylon midsole showcases a red “23” on the outsole heel. The Jordan 12 was the first Air Jordan to incorporate a full-length Zoom Air setup and a carbon fiber plate for rigidity. The sneaker is finished with herringbone traction.
Initially launched in 1997, the Air Jordan 12 “Playoff” was worn by Michael Jordan during the 1997 NBA Playoffs, alongside the iconic “Flu Game” colorway. Jordan also sported the Playoff 12s when he made the game-winning shot in Game 1 of the NBA Finals and during the championship-winning Game 6, which marked his fifth NBA title.
